TRAVEL BLOG

About me:

Hello there! This is Margarita.

I’m a biology student eager to travel the world, I’m a music and book lover.

Let’s talk about food, basically I like to eat a little bit of everything. Where I come from there are many exotic fruits, my favorite is chontaduro, and it’s delicious with honey, lemon and salt. However, there are also other ones that I don’t enjoy as much, like avocado. I really enjoy nachos or tacos but not with too much spice.

As for entertainment, I love to watch comedies, romantic movies, adventure movies and in particular those which tell a story. I prefer to read the book before watching the movie because most of the time books are better than the movie. I enjoy having time for me, that includes listening to music and once in a while go out for a drink with friends.

I haven’t traveled too much. As for in my country I have visited like five or six different cities, but I have been to many natural places like el valle del cocora in salento, el nevado del Ruiz in Manizales, vereda de san Antonio in Cali, and pianguita in Buenaventura.

Why I am writing this blog?

My country is a place of wondrous varieties. It has many climates, and to each of them there are places that you wouldn’t dream existed. Everyone who knows just a little about Colombia thinks that all there is to it is Cartagena and other well-known cities. Well, there are more places then those.

Colombia´s surface  is 2.129.748 km², which 1.141.748 km² corresponds to it´s contintental territory  and the rest of the 988.000 km² to its marine extension.

It’s the only nation of South America that has coasts in the Pacific Ocean and in the Carribean Sea, which posses various of islands like the Archipelago of San Andres and Providencia.

I want to talk about a specific place in my country, which is Atuncela, its located in the municipality of Dagua, on the east it is limited with the dagua river, on the west with Rucio, on the north with Loboguerrero and on the south with  Los Alpes.

Atuncela inhabits 309 people, even though its poberty is modern, its economy is based on peasant economy, basicaly from pineapple crop. Its geographical location  enablesyou accessibility to mayor urban centers of the región to market and export their products.

Despite moderate poverty, its economy is based on peasant economy, basically in the production of sugar cane, pineapple and hot pepper. Its geographical location  enablesyou accessibility to mayor urban centers of the región to market and export their products.

Its important to note that the pineapple has become a product of great economic importancia and they even perform fairs of the pineapple. Atuncela is said that is the place that originated the pandebono.

Sometimes I get a little sad, and I feel like being alone. Then I talk to my cat about it, and he reminds me I’m James FrancoThen we dance.
